City information, services now at your fingertips with new app

The City of Barrie app is now available in the App Store and will be available on Google Play next week

The City of Barrie has a new mobile app giving residents easy access to important city information and services. The new City of Barrie app is available now in the App Store and is expected to be available on Google Play in the coming week.

“We are thrilled to launch the new City of Barrie app,” said Rebecca James-Reid, General Manager of Access Barrie. “This new app is another example of how we are modernizing services to make it easier for residents to connect with the City of Barrie. This much improved app gives users the information they need in the palm of their hand. »

Features of the new app include:

  • News and Events
  • Closed roads and works
  • Municipal election 2022
  • Council and Committees
  • Waste and recycling

including a personalized curbside collection schedule
  • Public transport and parking
  • City job listings and other employment resources
  • Parks and recreation
  • Maps
  • and more!

Additionally, residents can report an issue directly to the City and opt in to receive timely and personalized notifications.

Analytics from the City’s former app, Pingstreet, were taken into account in the development of the new app. A survey that gathered feedback from Pingstreet users and feedback from potential users of a new mobile app also informed the development. Going forward, users will be able to submit feedback directly in the new app.
