Columbia Gas launches mobile app to improve customer experience

Columbia Gas of VirginiaColumbia Gas of Virginia has launched a new mobile app, which is now available on both the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store.

The mobile app closely mirrors the functionality available on the company’s website, including paying invoices, managing registrations (e.g. paperless invoicing, automatic payment and budget plans), review the use and display of invoice history. The mobile app also includes the new start, stop and move service functionality.

“Customer experience is at the heart of what we do at NiSource and our customers have continuously requested more options to meet their needs,” said Jennifer Montague, senior vice president and chief client officer at NiSource. “The mobile app gives customers another channel to easily pay their bills and manage routine transactions. “

Columbia Gas has a relentless focus on convenience through innovation to better serve customers, which includes offering digital options. Recently, Columbia Gas launched the Stop, Start and Move service on its customer website. Previously, customers had to call customer service to stop, start or move the service and now have the option to request these services on the website or through the mobile app.

Columbia Gas has also recently stepped up the promotion of paperless billing, encouraging customers to view their bills online anytime, anywhere.

“The growing customer demand for digital options has become very clear. Customers don’t just ask for it, they ask for it, ”added Montague. “We are confident that this implementation will provide an enhanced experience for our customers, giving them the ability to easily do business on their terms while continuing to improve our service delivery to them.” “

In early 2022, Columbia Gas plans to implement other new digital initiatives, including the launch of the virtual assistant Chatbot, as well as a live chat feature where customers can interact virtually with team members from Customer Support.
