North Texas’ favorite bar-b-que brand has entered the digital age with flying colors

In-store, online or on an app… Soulman's Bar-B-Que knows that meat on demand is the key to successDallas, Texas (RestaurantNews.com) For more than 45 years, customers of Soulman’s Bar-B-Que, the beloved family purveyor of expertly smoked meats, had to go the traditional call or meet method to get their barbecue favorites.

Like most businesses at the start of 2020, Soulman’s has made modifications and operational changes to stabilize its business in an ever-changing environment. “When the pandemic started in early 2020, Texas only regulated “takeout” orders. We immediately knew that our existing model of phone orders was simply not going to be manageable or efficient. We quickly partnered with mobile apps like DoorDash to fill that need,” said Brett Randle, CEO of Soulman’s Bar-B-Que. “After six months of success, we felt that offering our customers the ability to order directly from our website at www.soulmans.com was the next logical step. In November 2020, we began hosting full-spectrum online ordering on www.soulmans.com so our customers have the choice of ordering pickup and delivery in one place,” he said.

Immediately, Soulman’s Bar-B-Que enjoyed unprecedented success in sales, especially during the busy holiday season. “We far exceeded our expectations for holiday orders from Thanksgiving to Christmas 2020,” said Baylea Trulove, director of marketing for Soulman’s Bar-B-Que. “Because customers used our website, delivery apps, and picked up the phone to call any of our 18 North Texas locations, Soulman’s continued to be the safest way to get a barbecue. at home with our customers during months riddled with uncertainty,” she said.

Fast forward to a year later, in December 2021, Soulman’s Bar-B-Que kicked off the soft launch of their own Soulman’s app that allows North Texans to purchase their favorite slow-smoked barbecue via their smartphone.

“Ease of ordering through an app and cutting-edge technology have proven to be the best way to get our menu into the hands of our customers,” Randle said. “In addition to showcasing our great-tasting dishes, the Soulman’s app is the best place for us to chat with our customers about upcoming promotions and specials at any of our 18 North Texas locations.”

As part of December 1st rollout, customers who downloaded the Soulman’s app in December automatically received a coupon for a plate of meat through the app.

“We’re excited to kick off the new year with even more exciting and convenient ways to make Soulman’s Bar-B-Que part of North Texas families, meal after meal,” Randle said.

The Soulman’s Bar-B-Que app is available in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
