RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Brazil is the country with the highest dwell time on mobile applications. According to an App Annie survey, Brazilians spend more than five hours a day using apps on their smartphones, a growth of 30% over the past two years. Other countries like Indonesia, Turkey and Russia also recorded significant increases during the same period.
The data comes from a report presented by the consulting firm Thursday (15). In first place in the world ranking, the study points out that Brazilian users spend more than five hours a day using mobile applications. From the second quarter of 2019 to the same period in 2021, the country’s indicator increased by 30%.
Besides Brazil, only one place has exceeded the five-hour daily use mark: Indonesia. The Asian country appears in second place, with growth of 35% over the past two years. It is followed by India, South Korea, Mexico, Turkey, Japan and Canada, each with more than four hours of use.
TIME SPENT WITH MOBILE APPLICATIONS IS INCREASING IN OTHER COUNTRIES
Other countries also experienced significant growth in the second quarter of 2021. In Russia, for example, users spend 45% more time on apps compared to the second quarter of 2019. The same goes for those living in Turkey, where growth is 40% over the same period.
The graph also refers to other countries where users spend an average of more than three hours per day on apps. The highest point is the US, UK, and Russia, with the highest scores in this group. In order, the list is completed by Argentina, Australia, France, Germany and China.
The second quarter also brought good results for developers. âThe global app market has once again set a new spending record,â he said. “At US $ 34 billion, the second quarter total was about US $ 7 billion more than the second quarter 2020 total and US $ 2 billion more than the first quarter 2021 total.”
