On June 30, 2021, my colleagues in the social security system and I hosted a virtual press conference to discuss the new look and feel of the SSS mobile app, the latest development in our digital transformation journey.
In addition to having a redesigned user interface that makes it easier to navigate for members and employers, the app also allows members and employers to access information about registered disbursement accounts and provides direct links to the disbursement accounts. official social media of the SSS. It also offers an improved branch locator and allows users to access their activity history, including links to various SSS information campaigns.
The SSS 4.0 mobile app can now be downloaded through Google Play Store and Huawei AppGallery.
The SSS mobile app has indeed come a long way since its launch in 2018. In addition to the services I mentioned earlier, other transactions that can be done digitally through the app include requesting an SS number; update of contact details; receive notifications for salary loan and maternity benefit requests; viewing membership information, dues, salary loan status and balance, benefit information, documentary requirements, list of payment reference numbers (PRNs); inquire about SSS branch addresses with card, generate PRNs and online payments using PayMaya, credit / debit card or Bank of the Philippines Islands (BPI) accounts. Employer services available through the mobile app also include changing contact information, as well as viewing contribution and loan payments, and benefit reimbursement for employee sickness and maternity claims.
As of April 2021, the app had been downloaded 8.19 million times in the Google Play Store, 5.33 million times in the Huawei AppGallery and 1.05 million times in the iOS App Store. As a result, the SSS mobile app was cited as the second most downloaded free app in the productivity category on Google Play Store. At the same time, it ranks fourth in finance category on Huawei AppGallery and utilities category on iOS App Store. In terms of usage, it recorded an average of 85,000 daily transactions.
Due to the health and mobility limitations caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, the SSS mobile app and our other SSS online service channels such as the My.SSS portal have been given a new goal. To provide a more convenient and efficient means of transaction, they now also offer members and employers a more secure option to get in touch with SSS.
As I said at the press conference, as the whole world learns to live and cope with the new normal, institutions like the SSS are also adapting. The enhanced mobile application is a step in providing an effective and efficient government service even without face-to-face transactions.
We will continue to move forward with digitalization. The call now for our members, retirees, covered employers, as well as the public is to familiarize themselves with these online services so that they can easily do business with us.
Information about the SSS and its services is available on Facebook and YouTube on âPhilippine Social Security Systemâ, Instagram on âmysssphâ and Twitter on âPHLSSSâ. We also have a Viber community on “MYSSSPH Updates”.
Finally, I would like to remind our members, retirees and employers to always keep their SSS Mobile App and My.SSS Portal username and password secure and confidential to prevent unauthorized access and protect their personal information. .
Have a good week ahead!
