As rumors had suggested, Apple this week released a new MagSafe battery for iPhone 12. MagSafe battery attaches magnetically to the back of iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max, delivering extra hours of battery life. The total battery capacity is 1460mAH or 11.2 watt hours, as seen on the back of the device in one of the product photos.

You can order the new MagSafe battery pack for iPhone 12 on Apple’s website now for $ 99.

Apple this week released the third developer and public betas for iOS 15. The update brings a few changes, including tweaks to Safari’s controversial design.

  • There’s a new home screen when you first open the App Store, highlighting in-app events, Safari extensions for iOS, and the new App Store widget.
  • Apple made a few changes to the controversial Safari overhaul on the iPhone with some design changes to the navigation bar.

New iPad mini

Bloomberg reported this week that the new iPad mini “should be used” for release this fall. Mark Gurman says the design will be similar to the latest iPad Air with the latest processor inside. He describes it as “the biggest overhaul in nine-year history” of the iPad mini.

Gurman also indicates in his newsletter that Apple is continuing the development of a larger screen iMac powered by Apple Silicon. The “bigger and redesigned iMac to replace 27-inch Intel models is on the way,” according to Gurman, and will likely be powered by an M1X or M2X processor, but more details are still unknown.
