Be ready. Stay connected – before, during and after the storm.
The Milford Daily News offers a news app for iPhone, iPad and Android. The app provides local news to help you weather the storm. And you can receive alerts on your phone as soon as the news breaks, so you don’t miss a thing.
3 things to know about the application
Easier navigation and better user experience
The app offers fast load times, prominent, easy-to-read titles, and enhanced navigation options to quickly find the content you’re looking for.
The app is curated to bring our hottest stories to the fore and make it easy to find the most recent content.
Videos and galleries made by our award-winning photo team are also seamlessly integrated into the app to give you the full picture.
Under the Sections tab, you can choose from a wide selection of news, sports, entertainment, lifestyle, business, and opinion topics to stay on top of what interests you most. Sections you access frequently will be saved at the top of the tab.
The app should also integrate with social media platforms, so any stories you see on Facebook or Twitter will open in the app under your profile.
The latest notifications you want, when you want them
You can choose how and when you receive notifications.
App Alerts are the fastest way to find out about the latest news in your community. We post lots of stories a day, but we’ll alert you when we think you really need to know right away.
The experience is up to you. If you want to receive a few of our top stories per day, you can choose Top Stories.
In addition to our Top Stories and Breaking News alerts, you can sign up for sports, entertainment, weather, traffic and business alerts.
You can also set quiet hours, during which you will not receive notifications.
You can set up notifications when you download the app for the first time or make changes later by clicking on the cogwheel icon in the top right, then âNotificationsâ.
Make your reading experience your own
There are many ways to use the app to suit the way you consume the news:
- Give your eyes a rest with night mode. You can also adjust the text size according to your needs.
- If you are busy, the “Popular” tab of the app is for you. You will find 20 of the most read stories from the Milford Daily News in the last 24 hours.
- Mark the stories that you personally enjoy or are too busy to read right now. Tap the bookmark button and then look for them under “Saved.”
- We also have a handy offline reading mode (turn it on under the gear icon) to keep you up to date with the news during that long flight without Wi-Fi.
