The plane trees announce the swimming and diving program 2022-23


TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The head coach Josh Christensen and the Indiana State swim and dive team released its upcoming 2022-23 schedule Monday morning. The Sycamores will host four meets at the Vigo County Aquatic Center, while the road schedule includes meets at Illinois, an MVC quadruple meet, the US Open and the Tim Welsh Invite.

Overall, the Sycamores’ schedule will include the season-opening blue/white Intraquad at the Vigo County Aquatic Center. ISU will also host Missouri State and Miami, Ohio on Nov. 4-5, Indianapolis University on Dec. 3, and Southern Illinois and Ball State on Jan. 14.

Indiana State will look to build another strong season in 2021-22 as the Sycamores posted their fourth straight top-three finish at the Missouri Valley Conference Championships and set multiple records at the Missouri National Invitational Meet. the CSCAA.

The ISU season opener begins with the blue/white game on September 30, before hitting the road for two games in October. The Sycamores will take on the University of Illinois on October 8 on a trip to Chicago, Illinois to play Illinois Chicago, Northern Iowa and Illinois State in an MVC Quad Meet on October 21 and 22.

The Sycamores return to the Vigo County Aquatic Center Nov. 4-5 for a tri-meet against Missouri State and Miami, Ohio. From there, the team will split over the weekend of Nov. 18-21 with the swimmers heading to the Kansas Classic, while the diving team will head to the Purdue Invite.

All Indiana State qualifiers will travel to compete in the US Open in Greensboro, North Carolina from November 30-December 3. The Sycamores will close out the 2022 game of the schedule on Dec. 3 at the Vigo County Aquatic Center hosting the University of Indianapolis.

The ISU’s final home game of the 2022-23 season is Jan. 14 as the Sycamores host Southern Illinois and Ball State for Senior Day.

The Sycamores wrap up the regular season on the road with trips to Illinois State (January 21) and the Tim Welsh Invite to South Bend, Indiana (January 27-28).
The 2023 MVC Swimming and Diving Championships will take place in Iowa City, Iowa and will be hosted by UNI February 15-18.

The ISU will wrap up the year March 9-11 at the CSCAA National Invitational held in Elkhart, Ind.
