[Update: Missing details fixed] Barclaycard disappeared or absent from the Barclays mobile banking app? The bank is aware of a credit card access problem

The original story (from March 1) follows:

Is your Barclays app not working properly? Just yesterday, Barclays UK suffered a major outage that affected its mobile banking services as well as the Barclaycard app. It took the bank several hours to restore the situation. But today, another problem is emerging.

Customers complain about the absence of the Barclaycard credit card in the banking app. here are some reports:

For its part, the bank’s customer service on Twitter acknowledged the problem and said it was working on a fix. During this time, they also shared a workaround:

Update 1

Barclays officially acknowledged the problem:

We are sorry that you cannot view your Barclaycard in your app at this time – we are working to resolve this issue. Everything else is working fine

Update 2

Barclays social media account is now providing an ETA for a fix, indicating that the issue will be resolved by the end of the day.

We are aware, after the unexpected outage yesterday, that our customers’ Barclaycard cards are missing from the app. We are working to resolve this issue and hope it will be resolved by the end of today

Update 5 (August 28)

The Barclays service is apparently having trouble again as we see an increase in user complaints. You can see some of these complaints here.

The official Barclays service status page currently shows no outages. But we are keeping an eye out and will update this story as something interesting is reported to us.

Update 6 (August 28)

The company has officially confirmed the problem with the apps. Here’s what they said:

We’re sorry, we’re fixing an issue with your Barclaycard app at this time. 09:46 (BST), August 28, 2019

We’re sorry, you cannot access your Barclaycard account in our Mobile Banking app at this time – we are working to resolve this issue. 09:52 (BST), August 28, 2019

Update 7 (August 28)

According to their official status page, the issues with both apps have been resolved.

Update 8 (Sep 08)

According to the Barclays service status page, it is currently undergoing scheduled maintenance. Here is what he reports:

Sorry, we are doing some work right now until Sunday at 7:00 am. See how it affects you below:

You cannot manage your account online, in the app, by phone or Pingit. The Barclaycard app is also unavailable.

You can use your card (although some payments may be declined during our work)

You can withdraw money from ATMs (except with your Barclaycard). All other ATM services will be unavailable

Payments to your account will be added as soon as our work is completed.

Update 9 (April 10, 2021)

Barclaycard users are again facing issues where the cards have disappeared from the app. The good thing is that the team is looking into this matter. Here’s what @BarclaysUKHelp noted by responding to one of the users concerned:

we are looking at this now. Is there anything in particular you need to check on the account or the Barclaycard

Update 10 (April 10, 2021)

The application is now down and returns the error “Sorry, there was a problem with our system” (as can be seen in the image below) resulting in users not being able to log in.

The good thing is that the issue has been officially confirmed by @Barclaycard. this is what they noted:

Hello, we are aware of this and are thinking about it. We hope this will be resolved soon, thank you for your patience.

Update 11 (April 10, 2021)

While investigating the issue, users are suggested instead use online banking services.

we are aware of the problem and are looking to resolve it as soon as possible. In the meantime, you can still manage your online banking account.

Update 12 (October 27, 2021)

According to reports on Twitter, many checking and savings accounts are disappearing, and people are complaining that they can only see Barclaycard details, not their account.

The good thing is that BarclaysUK has officially acknowledged the problem. Here is what they said when responding to a complainant:

Many users have confused the issue with shutting down the app completely, however, this is not the case.

IST 3:44 p.m .: Following the acknowledgment, Barclays confirmed that their app service is now back to normal and the issues have been resolved.
