Three key issues were resolved
Rescue 1122 teams often faced three problems in responding to emergency calls: locating the victim, directing the victim to first aid, and ensuring that help is on the way.
A mobile app solved all three problems.
The Rescue 1122 mobile app has reduced risk for its users. The application is now able to pinpoint the exact location of the victim using the Global Positioning System (GPS).
In an emergency, all you need to do is call Rescue 1122 and press an app button to indicate your location.
The application connects the control room with the emergency vehicle (ambulance or firefighter) and the victim. The conference call between the three guides the victim to first aid and in the meantime the emergency vehicle arrives.
Victims can see the rescue vehicle moving on a map towards them.
The app was launched by Chief Minister of Punjab Usman Buzdar on December 21.
